End-to-end Website Production

Veteran storm chaser Brandon Ivey runs Stormchasingtour.com, a Wichita, KS-based severe weather touring company that caters to a very niche group of high-adrenaline vacationers seeking close encounters with extremely violent and dangerous weather events.

Each spring season Brandon competes with 20-25 other tour operators in the midwestern United States for a very limited number of guests who fly in from around the world to intercept violent thunderstorms, baseball-size hail and destructive tornadoes as they blast their way across the Great Plains.

The competition is fierce, but Brandon has a few very distinct advantages over his competitors: While most tours tend to dump their participants in shabby, discount motels over the duration of a tour, Brandon provides luxury accomodations and a superior service experience for his guests. Brandon also runs smaller tours, granting him much better access to storms and enabling him to make quicker decisions in an industry where every second is absolutely crucial for a successful intercept. Lastly, Brandon is hands down one of the very best chasers in the world and his impressive resume shows it.

We developed a concept website highlighting Brandon’s competitive advantages, his experience and national reputation. The landing page background features dramatic video of a violent tornado churning up the landscape, a tactic designed to squeeze out that single drop of adrenaline thrillseekers need to abandon any sort of reason or rational thought. Which, incidentally (ok, maybe not so incidentally), presents a great opportunity to launch the sales presentation.
